Agriculture

As a component of the Science curriculum students are given a basic introduction to agriculture, vegetable production and poultry enterprise. This provides students with the opportunity to grow vegetables and become involved in the management steps from soil preparation to the harvest state. It encourages an awareness of safety issues in the use of equipment, materials and tools.

Poultry enterprise enables students to monitor and record the growth and development of chickens. Students observe the eggs hatching in the incubator. They actively participate in the feeding and taking care of the chickens according to the animal welfare guidelines.

Birthing of the lambs late semester two is another thrilling event on the farm. On occasion students are able to handle and bottle-feed the lambs.
