International Day 2023

Letter to Parents

International Day 2023

Casula High School – Celebrating Diversity

Dear Parents/Guardians,

The Casula High School International Day is an event that creates a happy and productive school and community environment. The aim of the day is to increase cultural awareness amongst the students and promote harmony through tolerance, acceptance and understanding of cultures – all of which are values of our proud multicultural Australian society. The time has come for International Day 2023. It will be held on Thursday, August 3rd within school grounds during normal school hours.

Due to our growing student numbers, unfortunately, we do not have the capacity to host parents and family, and as such it is a Casula High School student only event.

The day’s main events include a formal assembly, international themed lessons, arts and crafts, World cup football matches, food stalls* at lunch (students will be able to visit various cultural food stalls around the school) and cultural performances in the school hall.

*Please note, although food will be labelled, some foods are brought in by students and may contain eggs, shellfish, nuts, nutella, peanut and dairy products or are cooked in the same area as such ingredients.

All students with food allergies must show their epi-pen and/or treatment to Miss Pragnell as soon as they arrive at school that morning. Failure to do so will result in non-participation of the day.

Cost: $7.00 (this includes lunch and entry to the Hall for the performances). Payments are to be made prior to Monday 31st July either in the school’s front office, or online, either: before the morning bell, at recess and/or at lunch.

Dress Requirements: Students are encouraged to wear their cultural costume or represent their culture on the day. If cultural costume is not worn, students are expected to be in full school uniform.

Any food drop offs need to be brought to the front office by 9.00am.

If you have any enquiries, please do not hesitate in calling the school on 9602-4320.

Yours Sincerely,

Mr G Smith

Principal
